Cooking Suggestions
- Thawing: Thaw sealed package slowly inside refrigerator. For faster prep, submerge unopened bag in cold water. Never thaw at room temperature. Pat surface dry before cooking for better crisp results.
- Steamed: Place thawed mantis shrimp on steaming rack. Steam for 8-12 minutes over boiling water. Serve with soy-garlic dipping sauce, keeps original sweet flavour.
- Salt-pepper stir-fry / deep-fry: Deep-fry mantis shrimp in hot oil for 3-5 minutes until shell turns bright orange-red. Toss in wok with salt, pepper, chopped chilli, garlic and spring onion for classic salt-pepper mantis shrimp.
- Grilled / BBQ: Brush mantis shrimp with olive oil, season lightly. Grill over medium heat for 4-6 minutes per side until shell colour deepens.
- Braised: Simmer mantis shrimp in savoury spiced sauce for short time, avoid overcooking to prevent meat turning tough.
Storage Instruction
Keep continuously frozen at -18°C (0°F) or below. Do NOT refreeze after complete thawing. Once thawed, consume fully within 2-3 days. For best flavour and texture quality, use within 8-9 months under proper frozen storage.
